Tell Your Negative Thoughts, "Not Now!" Lessons from the Mind Devotional was inspired after reading a devotional when my husband and I returned home to Jamaica for vacation in 2019. I was encouraged to write some practical experiences about the journey of mental illness from the different perspectives, specifically those who follow Christ and attend church, and those who don’t but are looking for hope. This book highlights some challenges of mental illness, as well as offer education and create awareness about any stigmas through the guidance of God’s words. It will help individuals to learn how to find joy in all things with God.
This book focuses on thought-provoking topics such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, suicide, religious guilt, dealing with life’s transitions, faith, motivational guidance, and therapy. This book also covers an interesting and creative twist including materials discussing the spiritual, physical, and mental aspect of a personal overall health and well-being. Readers should, therefore, be prepared to engage with a bit of art therapy and mindfulness activities at the end of each chapter. To derive fully from this reading experience, each reader should free their mind with the help of God.
